Alpine Sprout: Green Tea Packaging Inspired by Nature and Heritage

A Unique Design Celebrating the Preciousness of Alpine Green Tea

Alpine Sprout stands out among other green tea packaging designs due to its distinctive approach. The design team has beautifully captured the essence of the tea's origin by incorporating the steep mountains and cliffs into the outer packaging. The concave convex shape on the side of the box represents the arduous journey of the ancient tea horse road, symbolizing respect for life and the dedication of the people involved in tea production.

The packaging materials used for Alpine Sprout are environmentally friendly and sustainable. The outer packaging is made of degradable cardboard, while the inner bag is crafted from degradable paper. This conscious choice eliminates excessive packaging and emphasizes the harmonious coexistence between humans and the environment.

The dimensions of the outer package measure 100 mm in thickness, 350 mm in length, and 350 mm in width, providing ample space to showcase the exquisite tea inside.

Designer Jie Yang aimed to create a new brand influence for tea through Alpine Sprout. By studying the production environment and the living scenes of the local people, the design team incorporated local cultural characteristics, legends, and allusions into the minimalist visual fusion technology. The result is a packaging design that encapsulates the hardships of tea production and trade in a single box.

Alpine Sprout is not only a testament to the beauty of nature but also a reflection of the indomitable spirit of the working people. The design draws inspiration from the proverb "man will conquer nature," highlighting the determination and resilience of those involved in tea production.

The project commenced in September 2021 and was completed in November 2021. The design process took place in Shenzhen, with proofing and production carried out in Hubei Province.

This innovative design has been recognized for its excellence and creativity. Alpine Sprout was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2022. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding ingenuity and authenticity, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
